What audio formats does MusicZen support?
MusicZen v2 organizes MP3, FLAC, WAV, M4P, OGG, and more. (Our older v1.x app only read MP3 — multi-format support is one of the biggest changes in the v2 rewrite.)
Can MusicZen edit or fix my file tags?
No — MusicZen reads your existing tags to rename and organize files into the right folders, it doesn't write or repair tag data. If your files have incomplete or corrupted metadata, clean them up first with a free tool like Mp3tag (Mac/Windows) or Kid3 (Linux) before organizing.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free (v2 Basic) covers everything most people need: organizing MP3, FLAC, WAV, M4P, OGG & more into pre-defined folder structures, and it works with large libraries. Pro (currently in development) adds selecting specific file types to organize, custom duplicate handling, custom folder/file-name structures, a task report, and activity/error logs. When does Pro ship, and what happens if I buy a Founder License now?
Pro is still in development. Buying a Founder License today locks in the discounted Founder price ($16 vs. $26 at launch) and guarantees you full Pro access the moment it ships — we'll email your license key automatically, no separate purchase needed.
What operating systems are supported?
MusicZen v2 runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux — tested on macOS Sonoma 14, Windows 11, and Ubuntu 22. This is a change from v1.x, which was Windows-only.
I bought a Pro license for the old (v1.x) version — do I need to buy it again for v2?
No. As a thank-you for your early support, every v1.x Pro license holder gets a free upgrade to v2 Pro once it ships — no repurchase needed. We'll email your v2 license key to the address on file the moment Pro is released. If you've changed your email since your original purchase, please let us know so we can update our records ahead of time.
Are updates included with my license?
Yes. Every MusicZen license — Free or Pro — is a one-time purchase that covers the current version and all future updates. No subscriptions, ever. Sign up on the download page to get notified as soon as new versions ship.
Where does license revenue go?
Beyond funding ongoing development, a portion of every Pro license supports Kiva.org microfinance loans.
Who processes payments? Is my payment information safe?
Pro purchases are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record — MusicZen never sees or stores your card details.
