Answers to some common questions
Can MusicZen be use to organize other audio files?
MusicZen (v1.4) only reads and organizes the MP3 audio format which is a common audio format for consumer audio streaming or storage, as well as a de facto standard of digital audio compression for the transfer and playback of music on most digital audio players.
We are currently working on version 2 which will support more audio files like FLAC, WAV, MP4, OGG.. and possibly more.

Can I edit the file tags with MusicZen?
MusicZen will not help you tag your files, instead it reads the tags in your files and it uses this information to organize your files based on the order you specify in the preference tab. See the quick reference guide for help using MusicZen.
How do I get the Advance options I see in your screenshots?
When you purchase a license you will be able to activate MusicZen by entering your name and email in the activation form. Once it is activated, you will need to close and re-open MusicZen and then you will see a ‘Change’ button in the Preference tab of the application. This button toggles between the Advanced and Basic options. See the basic preferences window in the reference guide.
What Operating Systems are supported?
MusicZen (v1.4) currently runs in Windows only. It has been tested in Windows 10, 8, 7, and XP. Please note that the Microsoft .NET framework 4 or above needs to be installed in order for the application to run. Recent versions of Windows will include the .NET framework but older versions like XP may not. In that case you can get it via Windows Update or directly from the Microsoft .NET webpage.
The next version of MusicZen (v2) will run across multiple platforms which include Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Updates
Your license is a one time purchase and will allow you to download current and future updates of the app.
Please make sure to signup for our updates list in order to be notified of new updates and releases. MusicZen 1.x does not automatically check our servers for updates unless you manually tell it to check via the app (see the License Info window in the reference guide).
We would love to hear your feedback or suggestions on any improvements or features that will make the app better. Use this form to contact us. Thank you!
License
When you purchase a license it will allow you to activate the extra options in the preference tab.
Please note that you will not receive a license Key. MusicZen will create a license file once you register your name and email via the activation window. The license file is saved under the musiczen/program files folder and it is named license.xml.
If you have purchased a license (or are considering purchasing a license) I want to thank you very much for your support. The sales of the license helps us continue development to improve the app and to create future products to complement it like the MusicZen Player (more info to come in the future). It also helps us fund loans on Kiva!
A portion of the license sales goes to regular expenses like hosting, domain registration, maintenance, and development.. the other goes to fund Kiva.org loans. For every $25 dollars loaned on Kiva, an additional portion (5 – 10%) is donated to help support their mission. Once the loans are paid back, the funds are ‘recycled’ to help fund more loans. So far we have not had the need to withdraw funds from Kiva and hopefully never will. See my Kiva profile for details on where the loans are being made. Thank you once again for your contribution and support.
